Punta Cana with children: car seats, boosters and luggage

2 min read

The essentials

  • Car seats and boosters are free, but they have to be reserved.
  • Give each child's age and weight in the booking notes.
  • A pushchair and a travel cot count as luggage.
  • If you are between two vehicles, take the larger one.

A transfer with children turns on two things almost nobody checks when booking: whether there is a suitable seat, and whether the luggage genuinely fits. Both take two minutes to settle at booking, and both are hard to fix on the kerb at the airport.

Ask for the seat when you book

Car seats and boosters are free of charge, but they must be reserved: they are in the vehicle because someone put them there for your journey. Give each child's age and weight in the notes, because a six-month-old needing a harnessed seat and a seven-year-old needing a booster are different requests.

Count the luggage honestly

Children travel with more than you expect. The count that goes wrong is usually this one:

  • One case per adult, and often one shared between the children.
  • The pushchair, even folded, takes the space of a case.
  • The travel cot, if you bring one.
  • Hand luggage, backpacks and the changing bag.

Night flights

Many flights from Europe land at night. With children that shifts the priorities: the vehicle matters less than having someone already waiting, the seats already fitted, and nobody negotiating a price at eleven at night. We charge no night surcharge, so the hour does not make the transfer dearer.

Frequently asked questions

How many seats can I request?
As many as you need, within the vehicle's capacity. Tell us how many and for what ages when you book.
Can I bring my own seat?
Yes. In that case, count it as a piece of luggage when choosing the vehicle.
Do children count as passengers?
Yes, for vehicle capacity. The price is per vehicle rather than per person, so it does not make the transfer more expensive.
