What each one is

Bayahíbe is a fishing village turned departure point for Saona and Catalina islands. It is small, walkable and built around the sea: if your plans include island excursions, it is the natural base.

La Romana is the city, and Casa de Campo is the residential and golf resort within it. Casa de Campo has a controlled entrance, golf courses and private villas, and works more like a small gated town than a hotel.
